Annie Fisher

Anna Lee Fisher is a NASA astronaut and was the first mother to go into space. After the conclusion of her launch in 1984, she logged 192 hours in space. This is a charcoal study of a photograph of her for LIFE magazine.

Also, for anyone looking for a pick-me-up, check out this commencement speech given by Neil Gaiman at Philadelphia’s University of the Arts. I re-watch it every so often, particularly if I feel like I’ve hit a creative slump.
